Rupit is a multidisciplinary art project headlined by Bernardo van Bemmelen It's inspired by cinema and literature, as well as classic songwriters and poets. Rather than traditional songwriting formulas and structures, Rupit's music builds around storytelling. Lyrics are seeped in imagery and words that fill up your senses, and the music brings that to a deeper dimension. Every song is a small journey. The production of the songs is the next frontier to sculpt a fresh and immersive world, as it is used to push the narrative and experiences to obvious extremes, not shying away from more experimental approaches. Last but not least, the music is surrounded by a multidisciplinary effort to make the world of Jardí come to life in front of the audience's eyes. Musically it can simultaneously remind you of the lyricism of Adrianne Lenker, the experimental humanity of Bon Iver, and the bold sound of Nine Inch Nails. It tows the line between the most authentic folk and experimental electronic post-rock, without losing a pop sensibility for melody. In its solo or duo format, expect an intimate rendition of the songs on the record, leaning more into the acoustic aspects of each of them.
